The 9 Lives Therapy team is tiny but mighty, consisting of Kat Ricardo, LPC, and Annie Greene, LPC. Both of us received our masters in counseling counseling at Texas Woman's University. We met on our very first day of the program and clicked instantly.Â
Â
We're lucky enough to be best friends in addition to therapists and love that we get to work together. :)
Both of our therapists are experienced in working with:

-
LGBTQIA+ community
-
Trauma & C-PTSD
-
Anxiety
-
Depression

Our Space

Our Values
At 9 Lives Therapy, we believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, affirmed, and accepted. For some clients, it is important to know that their therapist has beliefs and values that align with theirs. We think so too, and so, we believe in being transparent about who we are.
Â
Annie and Kat identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community and Kat is a part of the Latine/Hispanic community. Our personal and therapeutic values are rooted in equality, respect, and compassion for people of all identities, bodies, abilities, backgrounds, and lived experiences.

We believe that therapy is inherently political. We recognize that our individual experiences are shaped by larger systems of power and opression, and therefore, systemic inequities can impact our mental health, relationships, sense of self, and access to care. We strive to challenge the power imbalances and social divisions that create barriers between people, rather than placing the responsibility for these systems on individuals.

What's the deal with the cats?
We wanted to be intentional about our name reflecting the kind of people that we are and the kind of clients we like working with. 9 Lives Therapy has the concept of resilience that we resonate strongly with. The idea that you can have another chance after messing up is something that we both channel in our work as therapists. Ultimately, we wanted a brand that inspires hope and also acknowledges the inherent strength that our clients have when they walk in the front door. Making the choice to get help is an incredibly brave act of reliance in and of itself, and we wanted to celebrate that.

In addition, cats are cool, and Kat has 2 of them, so it works on multiple levels. :)
